Norden newspaper, 18 Mar 2004, has this obituary for Karl Valde Ahlvik, b. 24 Jul 1916 in Pedersöre, who died 16 Feb 2004 at Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Vermont. Valde, who was a carpenter, emigrated to Toronto 1951 where the family lived for 13 years. In 1964 the family moved to Fairfield, Conn. and then in 2001 they moved to Vermont to be near their daughter Christina. He is survived by his widow Ethel (Sundqvist, Larsmo), son Christer in Toronto and daughter Christina Esser in Vermont. He also has brothers August Ahlvik in Jakobstad and Edwin Ahlvik near Göteborg, Sweden.
