  • 54 millionaires in Finland

    Finland had 54 millionaires this past year who had an income over a million euros. Most of them were with the Kone company; also the lumber and paper industry has many at top salaries. Last year there were 11 women among the 100 with the highest income. This year there were only 4 women among the highest income. Nokia's Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo was at the top of the list last year. He had a taxable income of 8.7 million euros in 2010. Close behind were UPM's Jussi Pesonen, Wärtsilä's Ole Johansson, Kemira's Harri Kerminen, Sampo's Kari Stadigh and Fortum's Tapio Kuula. Also Fortum's Mikael Lilius. Petri Haussila from Nyland had 3.6 million euros, followed by Kone's Matti Alahuhta with 3.5 million. At the top was John Lindell of Nyland, who sold his paper business in 2010 to Staples.

    Planmeca's Heikki Kyöstilä had 15.2 million, Kari Valtanen with 15 million sold his interest in Suomen Transval. Sanoma's Aatos Erkko had most taxable income last year = 15 million, followed by Björn Wahlroos and Antti Herlin of Kone.
