Top 500 highschools in the world

Norden newspaper reports that six of Finland's highschools are among the 500 best highschools and universities in the world. Helsingfors University is ranked 74, also universities in Åbo, Jyväskylä, Uleåborg and Kuopio, as well as the technical highscool in Esbo are on the list. Harvard Univ. in the US is ranked as the world's best.

Hi June,

Just a minor note here. Americans may understand highschools differently. Swedish term högskola or Finnish korkeakoulu are just differently named specialised universities.
Eg. Teknillinen Korkeakoulu - Tekniska Högskolan
in Espoo/Esbo has official English name Helsinki University of Technology - see HUT .
BTW. The main building on the front page (the one with distinguished auditorium shape) is designed by Alvar Aalto.

In the 1960's HUT was still called in English as the Institute of Technology, just like MIT. But at least in 1971 it was called like today - for some reason I remember that well ;-)
