    Finnish Aava Mobile launches waterproof and droppable Windows tablet

    Inari tablet developed by Finnish Aava Mobile can survive even a 1.8 meter drop with a special casing. Finnish company Aava Mobile has launched a Windows tablet which has drop resistant up to one meter or 1.8 meters with an optional casing. The company’s Inari tablet is also water and dust-proof. The Oulu based company has developed its tablet especially for retail, construction, transportation, hospitals and other demanding environments. The tablet will be available in the first quarter next year. Aava Mobile has partnered with Intel, and presented its first device to public in Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco.

    The operating system of the Inari tablet is Microsoft’s Windows 8.1, and the tablet runs all the Windows desktop applications. It also has a touch-screen which supports multi-finger input, digital pen and two cameras.

    Aava Mobile was founded in early 2000, when the former Flextronics employees started their own platform and product development in Oulu. The company offers tablets and handhelds for semi-professional and professional markets. According to company, the
    name Aava which in Finnish means ‘open’, represents its product philosophy.
