  • Sweden Finns get their own flag

There are four other national minorities besides Sweden Finns in Sweden: Jews, Roma, Sami, and Tornedalians. The Roma, Sami and Tornedalians have their own flags. And now the Sweden Finnish Delegation has chosen a flag designed by Andreas Jonasson. There was a flag designing competition that brought in 94 entries, 59 of them were designed by school children and 35 by adults. The winning design has a blue cross, outlined in yellow, on a white background. Sweden Finns have had their own national day since 2010 and it is celebrated on February 24.
