  • Erik.R.Hermans

Erik R. Hermans came from Närpes, Finland to New York and the 107 year-old Norden News, Inc. in 1962. 2,000 issues later Erik still covers Swedish-Finnish activity in Finland and North America. Norden serves to network the American-Swedish-Finns and keeps the Swedish language alive. Norden was established as The Finnish American in Worchester, MA in 1896, and is the oldest Finnish newspaper in any country abroad.

    Erik Hermans

Norden is the only Swedish language Finnish newspaper in North America as well as the oldest Finnish weekly outside of Finland.

Mr. Hermans and I have exchanged mail about publishing more articles in English to encourage more subscribers who can't read Swedish. So far my suggestions haven't borne any fruit.
