  • CDs from Finland

My cousin brought from Finland some CDs of religous music popular among Swedish Finlanders. The music is sung in Swedish by Boris Teirfolk and the CD is titled "Boris Teirfolk - HAN ÄR MIN SÅNG OCH MIN GLÄDJE", which also is the name on one of the songs he sings on the CD. It contains 12 songs. I don't know which word would be most correct, religious or spiritual. She still has a few CDs remaining which she would sell for $5 each to anyone who is interested in hearing music sung by our ancestors.

I guess no music what comes from Finland should be called spiritual.

    Religious is a better term

      Leve psalmen!

Many thanks to June for sending me the album of such
listenable music contained in the Leve Psalmen as per-
formed in the Espoo Cathedral. Many of the selections
were familiar to the ear and filling in with an English trans-
lation my memory reversed time back to childhood. The
selection "Var halsäd, sköna morgonstund" revived the
Christmas mornings attending Julotta as a child. Another
selection I was unaware was set to music was the prayer
I learned to say in Swedish as mother knelt beside me. I
recall most of that prayer but would really appreciate if
someone could send me the full text in Swedish so that
those spiritual moments of bedside prayer might be revived.

      Thank you
