have a picture of either stone or clay art of a gruesome little thing and somehow the name or label seems to fit....the Stump People. Has anyone ever came across anything in the genre of folklore about these objects. Attached is a picture of this object.

I haven't seen anything like it. But somehow I could imagine that it's a Norwegian troll, perhaps a souvenir.

Hej - I've seen these for sale in Tallinn, Viro (Estonia). I don't think they are really supposed to be any kind of folk story thing, and I don't think the shop selling them was trying to pass them as Estonian, either. I know some of the Ukko followers have used these. I think it is like the tree spirit you can buy to give your big oak or maple a "face".
