Just think of it: I have a sheet of paper here that is 100 years old, and it was carried across the ocean from Finland, through Canada, to Oregon, and back to Minnesota. Now it's almost as dark as a paper bag, it has my grandmother's name at the top, and I can't read it. Get the picture??

    Tyotodistus.

Signe Hoppe on työskennellyt Paperi tehtaalla Elo kuun 8 p:stä 1909, Elo kuun 17 p:n 1910 lajittelijana ja osoittanut kiitettävän (kiitetlävän?) käytöksen ohessa omaavansa kiitettävää työtaitoa. Eroaa omasta pyynnöstään Jämsänkoskella Syys kuun 9 p:na 1910.

    Can you help me??

    KIITOS!!

      Mikael,

Thank you very much! This must have been a very important paper to her if she carried it with her for all that time and distance.
