I've written before about my cousin's 105th birthday. Her son sent this write up from their local paper. She's an amazing lady.

Lorena Volz

Lorena was always the quiet one in that family. Her older sister Lillian died when she was 100 - and they called her Firecracker Lil. Her daughter Cathy always held a big birthday party for her at one of the country clubs on Marco Island - buffet line with a chef, dance band, room full of tables with orchids from Cathy's orchid garden. Tom Cruise's mother was always there - she lived in the same condo as Lil and Rene - and she'd get out on the dance floor and jitterbug. Lil and Rene sat at the head table, like queens, and people stopped by continually to honor them. Usually the two of them took over the microphone and sang some of the songs they knew 80-90 years ago. Sadly, I don't have pictures of these events.
