  • Maja Johansdotter Mickilä

Does anyone have a Maja Johansdotter Mickilä in their records somewhere?

Born 8 Dec 1840, Mickilä, Soklot, Pedersöre and baptized 13 Dec 1840.

I need to find out if she survived to marry and, if so, to whom.

Her parents were Sanna Nilsdotter Bertula and Johan Hansson Rank.

    Thanks.

    Mickilä

    Hi Rikki,
I checked Caino-Torp, Het sitte sukua, and Vilppu Keisarin suku, part III, and Johan Mattson Staaf (Malax) without success. Searched three names: Bertula, Rank, and Mickilä .
    Sorry,

      Thanks

      Syrene --

Thanks for checking. She's in the HisKi database, but she may have died young, though not before 1850.

My working theory right now is that my great-grandmother moved to Helsinki to live with some kin who had already gone there from Pedersöre. Her father's sister seemed like a reasonable prospect.

I'll keep turning over rocks. Eventually something will surface.

        Maja Johansdotter Kif/Rank/Mickilä

        Rikki,

I found the family of Johan Hansson in Jakobstad's Släkt-och Bygd #16, Tab. 5. It indicates that he moved to Mickilä in 1836 and then a flyttningsattest 68 2 Nov 1843 moved to Pedersöre. Nothing further can be found there.

          What a flyttingsattest?

          June --

Thanks for looking that up for me.

          What's a flyttingsattest?

I don't know what became of them after Mickelä. Johan Hansson's son, Johan Johansson Rank, died in 1867 in or near Nykarleby. His wife, Stina Lisa, remarried. There were two daughters, Maria Sophia and Johanna. I know nothing about what became of Maria Sophia. I assume she died, but have no record.

Any ideas of where to look?

            Mickilä

            Rikki,

Flyttningsattest is a moving certificate. No, I don't have any other ideas where to look for Maria Sophia. Nykarleby on HisKi doesn't include much data.

              Thanks June.

I guess I'll just add this question to my Nykarleby list and will get it answered eventually. Thanks for the insight.
